Guide to Planning Your Pitt Lake Family Photos
Pitt Lake is one of the most popular locations for family photos in BC, and for good reason! With meadows, mountains, flat, easily walkable trails, and a gorgeous lake as your backdrop - your family photos will be nothing short of epic.
One of the things I recommend is making a day out of your family photos day and planning fun things to do before or after your session! There are so many activities, cute restaurants, and unique places to see in Pitt Meadows. Check out some of my faves below! Considering Pitt Lake for your family photos? You have a couple of kiddos that need some entertaining (aka food!) before or after your session? Check out this guide to everything Pitt Meadows.
Best Places to Visit in Pitt Meadows
The dikes along the Pitt River are absolutely stunning. They're perfect for walking with kids and the trails are dog friendly - bonus! Here's a guide to the dikes in Pitt Meadows, there are so many that go along the Pitt River and Pitt Lake! You might need to visit two or three times to take them all in! The dikes are home to wildlife like bald eagles, osprey, blue herons and even bears. With gorgeous snow capped mountains as a backdrop for your morning walk, wildlife buzzing around you, you're bound to love this place.
Want to stop for lunch before your sunset photo session? Check out Hopcott Farms and their awesome little bistro! Grab a poutine or a beef brisket sandwich but make sure you have a change of clothes because you'll scarf their food down you might end up wearing half of it!
How about a little pick me up before your family photos? The other end of Pitt Meadows is home to Stomping Grounds Cafe in Osprey Village. This little coffee shop has wraps, pastries, coffee and tea. It's amazing and if you stop there - you have to try their vegan lemon loaf. OMG you have to try it.
What to Wear: Planning Your Outfits for Your Family Photos
Some of the most epic photos at this stunning location take place in the meadows in the flats. This terrain is ever changing with the weather (gotta love the Lower Mainland's rainy weather) so sometimes it might be muddy and sometimes it might be damp but all of the time it's beautiful. So, please. For the love of everything, please wear appropriate footwear.
One thing you should know is that if you're too hot or too cold it will show in the pictures. Please dress for the weather and of course, put your kiddos in weather appropriate clothes.
