HERE'S HOW THE MORNING OF YOUR PHOTO SESSION WILL GO

HERE FOR A MATERNITY OR FAMILY SESSION IN METRO VANCOUVER? HERE'S HOW THAT'LL GO →

8:30 AM

I meet you at your home with coffees in hand for the both of us. I’ll scope out the rooms in your house with the best lighting, help you declutter any lingering toys or laundry, and talk to you more about what to expect.

8:45 AM

We get your makeup going. Your partner can change and get ready at the same time, and I’m happy to advise on outfits.

10:00 AM

You and your partner hold your babe, share sweet moments in the soft, morning light, and reflect on what you’ve been through together. I capture it, and we talk about what life is like with a newborn.

12:00 PM

Your partner says, “Wow! That was so much easier than I thought it would be!” We say our farewells.

2 weeks later

You receive a gallery of photos to choose from, and let me know your faves. A few weeks after that, you flip through your very own heirloom album or hang the pictures up in the hall.

1. HOW YOU LOOK

I get it. Getting family photos is a biggie, and can be especially tricky postpartum (if you've just had a baby). It’s okay if you feel nervous.

The amazing thing about you? You’re planning this experience, anyway. You know that one day, your kiddos are going to look back and be happy you were in the photo with them. That’s the most beautiful thing in the world.

On my end, I promise I’ll do my part to photograph you in a flattering way, put you at ease, and create a makeup look that’s both natural and stunning. I’ve got your back.

2. THEY'RE NOT EXCITED

(One mom to another? My husband is never excited when we take family photos, either.) I promise that by the end of the session, your family will be surprised at how fast the time went and how easy it was.

This isn’t a “smile and say cheese” kind of experience. It’s a “blow raspberries on their tummy” or “take a moment to think about all it’s taken to get here” kind of experience. I promise it’ll be more fun than they think it will.

3. NEWBORN LIFE

I use a method called baby-led posing to make sure your newborn is comfortable throughout the session (no props, no unnatural poses). Your baby is perfect exactly as they are. They get to be our little director.

Feeding, changing diapers, and taking breaks are all natural and okay, which is why the timing of every newborn session is a little different, but generally they take about two hours. We’re in no rush.

4. HIGH ENERGY?

Bring on the excitable, the shy, and everything in between. I have fun activities in my back pocket to get your kiddos smiling and engaged. And I also understand when we need to take a break. I’ve got two of my own — trust me; I get it. You can relax and leave it to me. (I’m good at this.)

No child is ever 'too much'. Put your mind at ease mama.
